Indigo Blue

Exploring and discovering the many treasures of South Carolina

Welcome to Indigo Blue!

Palmetto Sunset Welcome to Indigo Blue! My name is Stephen Farnsworth and Maxi is my wife of 5 years. We are both South Carolina natives who have a deep love and appreciation for the beautiful state in which we live. We reside in Greenville, but travel the state extensively searching for good eats, little known places and old standbys.

South Carolina is an extremely diverse state. She has many small towns that capture the heart and soul of the Deep South yet features progressive cities that bring travelers from around the world. Our state encompasses a wide range of topography from sandy beaches to mountain vistas. Our goal is to show the best of what our state has to offer.

The purpose of this site is to offer some suggestions of interesting places to visit that we have enjoyed throughout the years. We would also like to tell the stories of the people and events that have made South Carolina so influential in the annals of American History. The palmetto and crescent moon displayed on our state flag is the second most recognized symbol in the United States, trailing only the lone star of Texas. The flag, adopted in 1861, has kept its current design longer than any state in the Union. These are just two examples of Palmetto Pride that runs from the treetop views at Caesars Head State Park to the gently waving sea oats of Folly Beach.

If you have a place that you would like Indigo Blue to visit please e-mail us at indigobluesc@gmail.com. Although we both have full time jobs, we devote as much time to our site as possible. We hope you enjoy our journey through South Carolina. Hopefully we’ll see you along the way!
